About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a Global Software Support Engineer I to understand and resolve equipment software application and systems issues of low complexity with supervision. In this role, you will assist field engineers and provide customer software support via a software ticketing system.
What you'll do
- Understand and resolve equipment software application and systems issues of low complexity. - Provide customer software support via the software ticketing system. - Assist in the analysis of software issues reported on customer tools by field engineers. - Use software troubleshooting tools, BKMs, and infrastructure to meet work delivery requirements. - Review equipment software documentation, key customer features, and installation or upgrade instructions for software product releases. - Complete company-level trainings and certifications to acquire specific product knowledge.
What you'll need
- Conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a software discipline. - Ability to use existing procedures and standard practices to analyze information and solve standard problems. - General knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. - Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to exchange straightforward technical information. - Ability to self-manage priorities and workload within standardized procedures. - Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
