About the role
This role focuses on ensuring product quality and reliability for new HDD products from the planning and development stages through to mass production. The role is based at Western Digital's main HDD development site in Fujisawa.
What you'll do
- Evaluate and certify specification suitability and customer quality requirements for new HDD products.
- Develop evaluation methods and test programs for new technologies and functions.
- Conduct various tests and data analyses to improve HDD quality.
- Understand product defects and issues during evaluation and propose countermeasures.
- Develop evaluation programs.
- Analyze evaluation data.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Experience in program development (Python/SQL).
- Business level Japanese and English.
- 6+ years of experience in product testing, validation, or lab engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and test equipment.
- Knowledge of reliability testing, environmental testing, and validation standards.
- Experience with data analysis tools (Python, SQL, R).
- Strong understanding of failure analysis techniques and quality processes.
