About the role
This role involves developing embedded C firmware for controlling DSP hardware within the ODSP PHY SW Team, focusing on Marvell's Networking PAM4 DSPs for data center optical modules.
What you'll do
- Develop embedded C FW for controlling DSP HW.
- Develop C & Python test code for utilities, GUIs, regression, and simulation infrastructure.
- Take an idea from concept through design, review, implementation, test, and release to customers.
- Work on features for cloud customers.
- Debug issues and drive to root causes with HW/SW teams.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a BS degree in CS/EE or related technical field(s).
- 1+ years of related course work.
- Strong programming skills in C and Python.
- Knowledge of git, linux, makefiles, gdb, IDEs, and bash.
- Understanding of software development flow, including issue tracking (Jira), SCM (gitlab), design & code reviews (gitlab), continuous integration (Jenkins), and regression testing.
- Understanding of computer and processor architecture, and how a processor interacts with memories and peripherals.
- Understanding of fundamental networking from the OSI model, with emphasis on the PHY up to the data link level.
Nice to have
- Experience working on MCU embedded processors environments.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code.
