About the role
Etched is seeking a Firmware Engineer to co-develop software optimized across hardware and software to support inference workloads. The role focuses on full-stack systems ranging from low-level drivers and APIs to higher-level applications and frameworks.
What you'll do
- Co-develop software optimized across hardware and software to support very large AI models. - Solve technical problems across the full stack, spanning low-level drivers, APIs, high-level applications, and frameworks. - Contribute to AI solutions targeting natural language processing, chain of reasoning automation, and generative media. - Work across our Austin office with regular travel to our San Jose headquarters.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. - Experience in software development, including data structures and algorithms. - Experience developing and testing software on launching products. - Experience with firmware design, implementation, and troubleshooting. - Experience with embedded architectures and IO technologies, including I2C, SPI, PCIe, and DRAM. - Experience with systems concepts such as scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. - Experience resolving customer-related issues.
