About the role
This co-op role involves hands-on experience developing RF front-end modules and designing RF filters for multi-chip module applications.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to design and develop RF filters.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve design efficiency.
- Design BAW- and SAW-based duplexers, quadplexers, and other RF filter solutions.
- Perform electromagnetic modeling and simulation of filters using tools like Ansys HFSS, Ansys Mechanical, Keysight ADS, and Momentum.
- Integrate multiple filters, duplexers, and RF switches to support carrier aggregation (CA) and advanced RF front-end solutions.
- Design evaluation boards and RF modules to achieve optimal filter and module performance.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related RF/microwave engineering discipline.
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from June/July through December 2027.
- Broad understanding of RF and microwave components, including Smith Charts, impedance matching, passive tuning techniques, and network parameter analysis.
- Strong knowledge of electromagnetic modeling and RF simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Cadence, Keysight ADS, AWR Microwave Office, or similar software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python or other programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, C/C++, SKILL, or VBA) for data analysis, automation, scripting, and engineering workflow development.
- Experience working in laboratory environments and familiarity with RF test equipment, including vector network analyzers (VNAs).
