About the role
As a Field Service Engineer at Applied Materials, you will install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment for customers.
What you'll do
- Install, maintain, and upgrade equipment.
- Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to address technical issues.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
- Coordinate and communicate with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.
- Complete quality repairs and respond to fab issues.
- Perform most retrofits on equipment and assist in process issues.
What you'll need
- Proficiency on primary toolset with ability to acquire additional systems and applications.
- Ability to perform startup activities through Tier II with limited support.
- Ability to complete qualifications with minimal assistance.
- Experience applying diagnostic techniques and using documentation and test equipment.
- Skilled in a range of processes, procedures, systems, and tool sets to carry out assigned tasks.
- Ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction through clear, consistent communication and knowledge sharing.
Nice to have
- Experience providing informal guidance and support to more junior team members.
- Ability to solve problems in atypical situations based on practice and existing precedents.
- Experience modifying work practices and processes to improve efficiency.
