About the role
As a Field Service Engineer at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment.
What you'll do
- Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment. - Apply diagnostic techniques using digital analytics to assess equipment and address technical issues alongside senior engineers. - Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. - Train and mentor junior Field Service Engineers. - Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to understand roadmaps, process flows, inflection points, requirements, and business challenges.
What you'll need
- Completion of an Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification. - 4-7 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or other equipment support industry. - Mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and/or thermodynamics. - Knowledge of hand tools and their usage, including digital multimeters. - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport.
Nice to have
- Experience with ALD, CMP, DDP, EPI, ETCH, FEP, MDP, SRP, or VSE.
