About the role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment. This role focuses on CMP systems.
What you'll do
- Assist senior engineers with installing customer equipment and performing scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Test equipment and diagnose and resolve technical problems.
- Complete required job documentation, safety training, and procedures for processing parts.
- Represent Applied Materials to the customer, ensuring on-site requirements are satisfied.
- Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues.
What you'll need
- An associate degree or military technical training and field experience or technical certification equivalent to an Associate's Degree.
- 2–4 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or equipment support industry.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in any of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
- Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.
