About the role
The Field Service Engineer maintains, installs, qualifies, and repairs systems at customer sites as part of the local HMI Sustaining team. The role focuses on servicing HMI MBI equipment, running diagnostics, and executing maintenance action plans in a cleanroom environment.
What you'll do
- Maintain, service, install, and upgrade HMI MBI equipment at customer sites, spending more than 50% of the time in a cleanroom. - Run diagnostics, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and execute defined action plans for regular and irregular maintenance. - Utilize escalation processes with 2L Technical Support, Applications, and 3L Global Support Center by providing technical communication and problem statement clarification. - Perform administrative reporting duties, including pass-downs, work orders, field service reports, and system problem reports. - Interface directly with customers to answer technical questions, train personnel in equipment usage and maintenance, and advise on corrective actions. - Contribute to work preparation by developing technical action plans and providing input for improvement proposals based on post-mortems.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field. - 0–4 years of hands-on industry or academic experience with mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, or semiconductor processes. - Proficiency in MS Office and Excel VBA. - Basic programming skills in MATLAB, Python, SQL, or similar languages. - Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds unaided, wear a Gore-Tex cleanroom suit for extended shifts, and support compressed work weeks including potential night or weekend shifts.
