About the role
As a Field Service Engineer in the Customer Support Business Group, you will provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation start-up services for electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites.
What you'll do
- Provide on-site repair, maintenance service, and complete installation and relocation start-up services for complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites. - Perform analytical problem-solving, conduct diagnostics, isolate issues to the component level, and execute corrective actions to minimize tool downtime and malfunctions. - Maintain operational records and reports to coordinate service activities between Lam and the customer. - Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and company products through ongoing training and certification. - Provide regular status updates to customers regarding tool health, maintenance progress, and technical challenges.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience; an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience. - Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals. - Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing personal protective safety equipment or a cleanroom suit. - Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, twist, squat, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods. - Willingness and ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, with flexibility to work shifts, compressed workweeks, overtime, and on-call rotations.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software, including Microsoft Office Suite. - Experience in installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
