About the role
As a Field Service Engineer 3 at Lam Research, you will provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation start-up services for complex semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
What you'll do
- Provide on-site repair, maintenance service, and complete installation/relocation start-up services of electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites. - Perform analytical problem-solving, conduct diagnostics, isolate issues to the component level, and execute corrective actions to minimize downtime. - Maintain records and operational reports to coordinate activities between Lam Research and the customer. - Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning, training, and certification. - Provide status updates to customers regarding tool conditions and service progress.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience; an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience. - Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals. - Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing personal protective equipment or a cleanroom suit. - Ability to position oneself (bending, stooping, reaching, walking, squatting, climbing) to perform physical tasks for extended periods. - Ability to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, with flexibility to work compressed workweeks, alternative shifts, overtime, and on-call.
Nice to have
- Experience in installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment. - Mandarin language skills. - Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software including Microsoft Office Suite.
