About the role
As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you will serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment.
What you'll do
- Install, maintain, and upgrade equipment at customer sites.
- Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
- Troubleshoot key technical issues at the component level and diagnose complex system downs.
- Perform complex retrofits and organize/lead retrofit activities.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced Customer Engineers on complex system problems.
What you'll need
- Developed expertise in a variety of work processes or activities through job-related training and on-the-job experience.
- Ability to use customer's metrology equipment.
- Experience planning for and completing all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Skill in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Functional knowledge in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, or technical expertise in an area.
- Interpersonal skills to evaluate and communicate technical content clearly.
