About the role
As a Field Process Engineer 5 at Lam Research, you will provide process support, evaluation, and documentation of process outputs for hardware modifications and upgrades at customer sites. You will serve as key field support for Beta sites, evaluations, or first-in-fab installations, partnering with hardware engineering to define chamber requirements and characterize hardware designs.
What you'll do
- Provide process support, installation, and optimization of new applications of Lam equipment at customer sites. - Serve as field support for Beta sites, evaluations, and first-in-fab installations. - Design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze results, and generate reports to optimize device architecture and process modules. - Partner with customers to address process deviations through root cause analysis and meet new technology requirements. - Develop new or modified processes, define best known method process recipes, and partner with hardware engineering to characterize hardware designs. - Coordinate statistical analysis of failure rates, develop continuous improvement plans (CIP), and recommend design changes.
What you'll need
- PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or related field with 5+ years of experience; Masters of Science with 8+ years of experience; or Bachelors of Science with 12+ years of experience. - Ability to work on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors and sound judgment in selecting evaluation criteria. - Demonstrated customer relationship and written/verbal communication skills. - Ability to work in a cleanroom environment wearing personal protective safety equipment or a cleanroom suit, including on-call availability if needed.
Nice to have
- In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
