About the role
What you'll do
- Develop embedded software solutions and present cross-functional system concepts.
- Identify opportunities, perform software bring-up, and conduct bench builds.
- Identify root causes of issues and drive resolutions with internal teams and customers.
- Manage cross-functional enterprise projects to completion on time.
- Provide technical training for NXP products to customers and colleagues.
- Offer guidance to NXP's engineering and product development teams on future product offerings.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of development engineering or applications support experience with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
- Experience with C and C++ and a record of developing embedded firmware.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SoC hardware interfaces (Ethernet, MIPI, SDIO, LP DDR3/4, Quad/Octal SPI, USB2.0/3.0, UART, SPI, I2C).
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze data and schematics, and develop solutions.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within California and Michigan.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of ARM Cortex processors.
- Experience using Real-Time OS systems: SafeRTOS, FreeRTOS, and Zephyr.
- Firsthand knowledge of graphics and video subsystems and related software drivers.
- Experience in microcontroller electronics and software development.
- Experience as a Field Application Engineer.
