About the role
AMD is looking for a Server Product Architect to join the Datacenter System Architecture and Engineering team to develop products around EPYC processors. In this role, you will define end-to-end server product architectures spanning silicon, platform hardware/software, and usage models for high-performance computing and mega data centers.
What you'll do
- Define server product architectures and architect solutions using AMD processors, accelerators, and network components for high-performance computing, server, and mega data center applications. - Collaborate with customers, processor architects, IP and SoC architects, network and IO device architects, application software developers, and system software developers to establish requirements for performance, power balance, and cost. - Conduct research and development on server designs to continually improve performance. - Direct product and system architecture definition across memory, I/O, signal integrity, power integrity, packaging, power delivery, thermal, mechanical, power management, boot process, firmware, and hardware management. - Partner with external technology companies to engineer products based on new SoCs, CPUs, and chipsets, aligning technical positions with engineering and leadership counterparts.
What you'll need
- Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with extensive experience. - Track record of defining product architecture and design spanning memory, I/O, signal integrity, power integrity, packaging, power delivery, thermal, mechanical, power management, boot process, firmware, and hardware management. - Experience working with external technology companies to engineer products based on new SoCs, CPUs, or chipsets. - Experience aligning technical results and architecture requirements with customers, business units, and cross-functional hardware and software teams.
Nice to have
- Demonstrated server products expertise across multiple projects from architecture, development, and design through bring-up, validation, and release to production, covering memory, I/O, power delivery, power management, boot process, firmware, and BMC/hardware management. - Detailed understanding of server industry standards including DDR, PCIe, SATA, and other high-speed IO protocols.

How we counted: 475 open SoC/Chip Architecture (SOC Architecture) roles from 66 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 21 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row.
