About the role
TSMC Arizona is looking for a Facility Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) / BIM Technician to join the new fab design team in Phoenix, Arizona. You will support semiconductor fabrication facility design through CAD drafting, 3D modeling, and space management.
What you'll do
- Create CAD drawings and 3D BIM models for facility systems and buildings in collaboration with BIM managers and engineers. - Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure drawing and BIM model quality. - Conduct 3D clash detection using Navisworks and coordinate with subcontractors to resolve identified clashes. - Develop space usage principles, create workflows, and generate space management drawings. - Document and maintain CAD drawing and 3D model versions, create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and consolidate lessons learned. - Perform onsite facility system verification, spot checks, and measurements to verify systems are installed per the model.
What you'll need
- Extensive experience with BIM software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks. - Previous construction or design work experience, including hands-on experience working at a construction site. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office software. - Fluency in English speaking, reading, and writing. - Ability to work onsite daily at the Phoenix, Arizona facility.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Dynamo software. - Experience with MEP and building design. - Semiconductor factory VDC/BIM and space management experience. - B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. - Professional certificate in BIM modeling.
