About the role
This engineering position maintains, troubleshoots, and improves control systems supporting 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing operations. The role leads the engineering lifecycle for facility systems including air handling, exhaust, water treatment, electrical power monitoring, and life safety systems.
What you'll do
- Serve as the engineering escalation point for 24/7 operations teams, troubleshooting controllers, instrumentation, and control system issues across manufacturing facility systems. - Provide engineering expertise for control systems across air handling, exhaust, de-ionized water, cooling/hot/potable water, drain systems, electrical power monitoring, and life safety systems. - Independently drive controls-scope projects through initiation, design, engineering, and commissioning while providing technical leadership on multi-discipline projects. - Develop and maintain controls documentation, including Sequence of Operations, P&IDs, I/O lists, and panel/wiring drawings. - Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures to ensure standardized best practices. - Support mentoring and technical development for early career controls engineers and technicians.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related degree. - 5+ years of relevant controls engineering experience in an industrial or facilities environment. - Demonstrated hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting Siemens PLCs.
Nice to have
- Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/1500) and/or Classic Step 7 (S7-300/400). - Advanced experience with SCADA systems in an operational or configuration capacity, or familiarity with platforms including Aveva System Platform, Iconics, Siemens PCS7, Zenon CopaData, or SQL. - Experience with Wago PLC platforms (CoDeSys) and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLCs. - Experience with industrial network design, configuration, and troubleshooting (Cisco and/or Hirschmann equipment preferred). - Understanding of PID loop tuning, Function Block Diagram and structured text programming, alarm/trend analysis, and reading low voltage wiring diagrams and P&IDs. - Experience with FMEA, Root Cause Analysis methodologies (e.g., 3x5 Why, 4-Corner Analysis, Cause Map), and controls commissioning in a semiconductor fab or data center environment.
