About the role
This role is for a Maintenance Technician responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving equipment and/or processes in the assigned area at GlobalFoundries' Malta Fab 8, a 300mm semiconductor manufacturing facility.
What you'll do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment per operating procedures.
- Monitor, control, and test semiconductor equipment for manufacturing readiness.
- Recover equipment from process interruptions and complete event documentation.
- Effectively communicate end of shift pass downs.
- Work collaboratively with teams to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks.
- Support and engage in training activities.
What you'll need
- Ability to perform work activities in a safe manner in line with FAB8 EHS&S policies.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements.
- Basic reading and writing comprehension skills.
- Basic computer navigation skills (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook).
- High School Degree (or equivalent).
- Electrical or mechanical experience with a 2-year technical degree, 2 years of relevant military experience, or 4 years of relevant experience (automotive repair, BOCES, HVAC, aviation, cable installation, computer routing, telecommunications, electrical work).
Nice to have
- Experience with troubleshooting and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to read and comprehend schematics / blueprints / electrical diagrams.
- Basic understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience utilizing basic hand tools and quality workmanship principles.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and defect troubleshooting.
- Associate degree in engineering technology, military equivalent, trade equivalent, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing.
