About the role
As an Engineering Technician II within the Demonstration Lab team at the Phoenix R&D site, you keep semiconductor equipment operating safely, reliably, and at peak performance. This role directly supports research and development activities, enabling engineers to validate new technologies and process improvements.
What you'll do
- Perform major preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability. - Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and leak-checking issues to restore system functionality. - Diagnose and resolve temperature-related issues across complex equipment systems. - Clean, inspect, and maintain parts to ensure consistent, optimal performance. - Conduct root-cause analysis using structured methods such as 5 Whys and implement corrective actions. - Anticipate common wear parts and maintain accurate maintenance and part-replacement records.
What you'll need
- Technical school diploma or associate degree from a two-year program in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field, or at least three years of progressively responsible, hands-on experience supporting, maintaining, or troubleshooting complex technical or semiconductor equipment. - Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a technical environment. - Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions independently. - Experience with preventive maintenance practices and maintenance documentation standards. - Basic computer skills for logging, tracking, and reporting maintenance activities.
