About the role
As a technician in the SEM Lab, you will support business groups by providing rapid data turnarounds for engineering problem resolution. The role focuses on STEM/TEM sample preparation and imaging using Thermo Fisher Helios systems.
What you'll do
- Prepare STEM/TEM samples and perform imaging in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) using Thermo Fisher Helios systems. - Perform FIB-SEM analysis while adhering to lab methodology and quality standards. - Optimize personal workflow for efficient throughput of samples and estimate work completion times for lab management. - Provide feedback to lab management for continuous improvement in lab workflows and align with team members on methodologies. - Protect customer material and IP at all times across all handling procedures.
What you'll need
- 4+ years of experience with a BS degree in a physical science, a specialized AS degree, or equivalent professional training in materials science and analytical techniques. - Experience operating dual-beam FIB/SEM tools, specifically for preparing thin lamellae for STEM or TEM imaging. - Knowledge of automated lamella preparation and sample imaging. - Experience creating and presenting technical documentation. - Strong spatial awareness for tool operation and ability to work a shift schedule.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry. - Experience in customer IP protection and sample handling.
