About the role
This role supports the applications engineering team with power electronics laboratory work, focusing on developing test assemblies with electro-mechanical integration.
What you'll do
- Develop test assemblies with electro-mechanical integration.
- Conceive, design, fabricate, assemble, operate, and maintain bench-top setups to test onsemi parts.
- Manage calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure good housekeeping and maintain supply stock.
- Abide by and enforce safe operating procedures.
- Help maintain ISO certification.
What you'll need
- 5+ years’ experience in an electronics or electro-mechanical laboratory environment.
- Ability to translate schematics, block diagrams and verbal descriptions into functioning hardware.
- Skilled with electronics lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, LCR meters, waveform generators, current probes, high voltage/high current power supplies, handheld meters, soldering, PCB troubleshooting.
- Skilled with workroom tools such as drill press, band saw, benchtop milling machine.
- Ability to manipulate data in Excel or other engineering calculation software (such as Matlab).
- Associates Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with LabView software (or similar graphical programming environments) and digital controllers (such as NI CompactRIO).
- Familiarity with switching power electronic circuits.
- Familiarity with concepts of heat transfer, power dissipation, and cooling of test setups.
- Experience with printed circuit board design and/or circuit simulation in tools such as Spice or Simetrix.
