About the role

As a Staff Automotive Camera Customer Engineer, you will handle the design, integration, and validation of embedded systems based on Qualcomm's Automotive Infotainment, ADAS, and Robotics SoCs and platforms. You will support automotive OEMs, Tier-1s, and ecosystem partners on camera sensor bring-up, image signal processor (ISP) tuning, and system-level issue resolution.

What you'll do

  • Support Automotive OEMs, Tier-1s, and robotics customers with the integration, bring-up, and commercial deployment of camera solutions on Qualcomm platforms.
  • Debug and resolve system-level issues involving camera sensors, ISP, multimedia pipelines, synchronization, performance, and stability.
  • Support camera bring-up, image quality tuning, multimedia integration, and latency/bandwidth performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, systems, and product teams to analyze and resolve customer-reported defects.
  • Develop technical documentation, integration guides, and troubleshooting materials to support customer development activities.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years of software applications engineering or development experience (or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years), along with 8 years of experience in embedded systems, automotive, camera, multimedia, or robotics domains.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and software architecture design.
  • Direct experience with camera interfaces and protocols including MIPI CSI-2, I2C, GPIO, V4L2, GMSL, FPD-Link, and SerDes technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in camera sensor bring-up, sensor drivers, camera framework integration, and compliance with industry standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
  • Demonstrated background in Camera ISP, image quality (IQ) tuning, 3A algorithms (Auto Exposure, Auto Focus, Auto White Balance), and video pipelines.
  • Experience with multi-camera architectures, camera and frame synchronization, and time-aligned data acquisition across heterogeneous sensing systems including LiDAR, Radar, and IMU.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of operating systems including QNX, Linux, Android, and other RTOSs.
  • Experience with Android Camera Framework, Camera HAL, Media Framework, IPC Mechanisms, and Vehicle HAL interface.
  • Knowledge of Linux Device Drivers, Embedded Linux, process and memory management, and multi-core architecture fundamentals (core, cache, memory, bus, PCIe).
  • Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, Trace32, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Exposure to hypervisors, virtualization, Computer Vision, OpenCV, AI/ML frameworks, or Snapdragon Automotive and ADAS stacks.
