About the role
This Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for developing and implementing methods for producing products and processes, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and agility through process improvements. The role ensures consistent performance and new product development by acting as a liaison between operations and engineering.
What you'll do
- Evaluate existing processes and implement new techniques to improve product flow, part quality, and first pass yields.
- Create and revise part instructions and routings, and train production personnel on their use.
- Lead lean-sigma projects on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction and reduce waste and lead time.
- Develop ROI data for equipment replacement or addition and coordinate design, purchase, or construction.
- Author and review Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, and test specifications.
- Participate as a team member on New Product Development Teams and analyze validation and qualification protocols.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Good visual ability to detect quality defects.
- Lean Manufacturing Certification or experience.
- Experience creating routings, work instructions, and ECR/ECO processes.
- Strong SAP or other equivalent ERP (Oracle, PeopleSoft) system experience.
- Experience with control systems documentation.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including modeling, pivot tables, v-lookup, and macros.
