Architecture ownership for Passage 3D-stacked photonic links.

About the role

The Electro-Optic Systems Architect serves as the architecture owner of the electro-optic performance for Lightmatter's Passage product line. The role focuses on end-to-end electrical-optical-electrical links, integrating CMOS, silicon photonics, high-speed (40+ GHz) electro-optic interfaces, and 3D integration.

What you'll do

- Own the electro-optic performance architecture for the Lightmatter Passage product. - Conduct electro-optic system modeling using Cadence photonics-analog simulators (Verilog-A, Spectre, Virtuoso), VPI Photonics, and Keysight ADS. - Design end-to-end electrical-optical-electrical system-level links to satisfy customer requirements. - Co-design analog and photonic devices with engineering design teams based on end-to-end simulation results. - Validate architectural models by designing high-speed RF experiments, conducting proof-of-concept tests, and analyzing empirical data. - Author, review, and validate architectural specifications while identifying technical execution pitfalls and mitigation strategies.

What you'll need

- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience. - At least 3 years of experience in electronic-photonic-electronic systems simulation and hardware testing/measurement. - Proficiency with Cadence photonics-analog simulators (Virtuoso, Spectre, Verilog-A), Ansys HFSS, and Keysight ADS. - High proficiency in coding simulations using Python or Matlab. - Demonstrated expertise in RF/mm-wave analog circuit design, optical communication link modeling, corner analysis, and Monte Carlo analysis.

Nice to have

- Experience in commercial product development or industrial projects. - Silicon photonic integrated circuit design and test experience. - Knowledge of signal processing and signal integrity in optical communications. - Knowledge of SERDES and mixed-signal interfaces.

Skills: digital architecture, photonic circuits, AMS electronics, high-speed analog/photonic link, SerDes PCS layer
