About the role

As an Electrical Engineering Intern for the summer term, you will work closely with other engineers to develop lithography systems, deposition tools, vacuum chambers, nanometer precision motion control, plasma etching systems, and related tools. You will be exposed to impactful work rebuilding the chip fabrication process from the ground up.

What you'll do

  • Design PCBAs and electrical systems, driving the end-to-end process including schematic capture, layout, bringup, testing, integration, and documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and process teams to gather system requirements.
  • Investigate optimal design approaches and perform detailed analysis and simulations to evaluate electrical designs.
  • Identify problems, prototype solutions, productionize prototypes, and deliver finished solutions for IC manufacturing.

What you'll need

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering (KiCad/Altium, microcontrollers, embedded systems, digital circuits).
  • Ability to learn quickly and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Hands-on prototyping experience and the ability to move through design cycles quickly.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing (ALD, CVD, PVD, photolithography).
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly design and analysis from coursework, internships, or personal projects.

Skills: PCBA design, electrical systems, schematic capture, layout, prototyping
