About the role
This role provides technical ownership for semiconductor design, verification, and tapeout computing environments, supporting compute, storage, scheduling, and EDA application services for engineering users. Technical scope spans hybrid EDA HPC platforms across on-premises infrastructure and AWS-based compute environments.
What you'll do
- Provide technical support for EDA compute clusters used for simulation, physical verification, OPC, lithography, signoff, and tapeout workloads. - Operate, optimize, and troubleshoot IBM LSF and other batch scheduling environments for high-throughput engineering workloads. - Analyze job failures, hung jobs, queue bottlenecks, license constraints, compute node issues, and workload performance problems. - Support and optimize EDA storage services, including NFS, NetApp ONTAP, AWS FSx, S3, and related high-performance file services. - Design, develop, and maintain automation tools to improve EDA operations, observability, reliability, and support efficiency. - Resolve complex ServiceNow incidents, requests, problems, and changes, and lead root-cause analysis during critical incidents.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience. - Minimum 8 years of relevant experience for MTS, or 10 years for Senior MTS, in EDA computing, HPC, Linux infrastructure, storage, cloud, or production engineering support. - Experience supporting EDA computing, HPC, or large-scale Linux production environments. - Hands-on experience with batch schedulers, preferably IBM LSF. - Linux system administration skills on RHEL-based platforms and Bash scripting capability. - Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field. - Experience supporting semiconductor design and tapeout flows, including Calibre, ASML Brion, Cadence, Synopsys, or similar EDA applications. - AWS or other cloud platform experience for HPC or engineering workloads. - Experience with NetApp ONTAP, NFS, FSx, S3, or high-performance file storage. - Python automation experience. - Experience with monitoring, logging, dashboarding, capacity reporting, and operational analytics tools.

How we counted: 968 open Infrastructure/Platform Software (Infrastructure Platform) roles from 86 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 19 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row.
