About the role
This Staff EDA/CAD Software Engineer role involves developing critical CAD tools for emulation within Qualcomm Technologies Inc's Global CAD team. The role focuses on developing CAD algorithms for Qualcomm SoC needs, including synthesis, partitioning, place and route, and clock optimization.
What you'll do
- Develop solutions for infrastructure needs using industry-standard tools and technologies.
- Develop critical emulation CAD algorithms addressing Qualcomm SoC needs.
- Drive compute and storage optimization.
- Mentor and lead other team members.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience (or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years).
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Experience in RTL Synthesis (System Verilog -> Netlist).
- Experience with Clock Tree Optimization.
- Exposure to VLSI design concepts and logic design.
- Experience with Git, LSF, JIRA, and GCC.
Nice to have
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 2 years of ASIC design, FPGA design, verification, or related work experience.
- 2 years of C SW development, CAD tool development, or related work experience.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Linux.
- Proven ability in software design principles, practices, and patterns.
