About the role
Veeco is hiring a Director, Manufacturing Operations, reporting to the VP of Global Operations, to lead the manufacturing organization in San Jose. In this onsite leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of Veeco's laser annealing and lithography products.
What you'll do
- Direct Sub-assembly, Assembly, and Test teams to meet corporate strategies and business objectives in the San Jose factory. - Take direct accountability for on-time-shipments, meeting customer commitments, and establishing the budget and resource plan for site operations. - Ensure continuing compliance to quality and safety standards, including ISO certifications, while achieving target in-box and out-of-box quality metrics. - Establish a roadmap for productivity improvements and run continuous improvement and lean programs. - Lead production-related quality investigations and improvement plans via structured problem solving, 8D analysis, and Shift-Left activities. - Execute product transition plans for existing and new products, including factory and supplier insourcing/outsourcing efforts and Modular Final Test strategy implementation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management. - Minimum of 12 years of experience with increasing responsibility in an operations leadership role managing an organization of over 30 people. - Hands-on experience with quality management techniques including Lean, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, and 8D. - Demonstrated proficiency using data analytics and statistical process control. - Expertise leading manufacturing operations, international supply chain, and strategic planning.
Nice to have
- Experience with complex capital equipment manufacturing, particularly within semiconductor or related high-tech industries.
