About the role

Cirrus Logic is seeking a Director, Engineering IT Operations to lead the strategy, scalability, reliability, and day-to-day operations of the infrastructure supporting more than 1,000 semiconductor design engineers across global sites. You will oversee the platforms and services essential to chip development, including high-performance compute environments, EDA tool infrastructure, job scheduling systems, revision control platforms, enterprise storage, and automation.

What you'll do

- Define and execute the infrastructure strategy supporting semiconductor design and engineering operations across global locations. - Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of platforms supporting RTL-to-GDSII flows, simulation farms, and verification regressions. - Lead teams responsible for Linux infrastructure, compute farms, enterprise storage, revision control, automation, and observability. - Drive operational excellence across 24x7 production environments, including incident response, root cause analysis, change management, and disaster recovery planning. - Partner with silicon engineering, CAD/EDA teams, IT, security, and executive leadership to align compute and storage roadmaps with tapeout schedules and product goals. - Advance engineering productivity through automated provisioning, self-service capabilities, and platform reliability engineering.

What you'll need

- 12+ years of experience leading infrastructure or platform engineering teams, with a track record of supporting 1,000+ engineers across multi-site environments. - 10+ years of hands-on experience administering large-scale Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS) with deep knowledge of NFS, LDAP, Active Directory integration, and 5,000+ server scale. - Extensive experience operating and scaling distributed compute environments supporting semiconductor workloads using IBM Spectrum LSF, including fair-share scheduling, queue architecture, and license-aware scheduling. - Deep expertise in enterprise storage infrastructure, including NAS and SAN topologies managing tens or hundreds of petabytes of engineering data. - Operational knowledge of enterprise Perforce administration, including database optimization, replication, edge servers, and large binary repository performance. - Proven background in infrastructure automation and observability using Python, Shell scripting, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK.

Nice to have

- Experience with Git, GitLab, Gerrit, and GitHub for hardware development CI/CD flows. - Experience with Kubernetes in platform engineering environments. - Experience managing compute farms processing millions of jobs per day.
