About the role
AMD is seeking an experienced technical leader to manage a microprocessor design team and drive RTL design for future generations of AMD x86 CPUs. Products span the global x86 market across server, desktop, and laptop designs.
What you'll do
- Lead and coordinate a team of RTL design engineers across multiple design blocks. - Drive project design goals and dependencies with architects, DV, and physical design teams. - Drive implementation strategy to deliver quality, timely, and cost-effective solutions. - Provide technical leadership to resolve complex design problems in a dynamic environment. - Participate in technical reviews of specifications, design, and test plans to meet design quality objectives.
What you'll need
- BS or MS in EE, CE, or CS with relevant engineering leadership experience. - Technical expertise to manage the design of x86 CPUs. - Proven experience leading and developing silicon design engineering teams. - Demonstrated success leading complex silicon design through tapeout, in a CPU or advanced processor design environment. - Expertise in computer architecture, processor pipeline, and memory hierarchy. - Extensive experience with RTL and logic design, design methodology, and the silicon development lifecycle. - Proficiency with scripting and automation languages such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.
Nice to have
- Experience designing Instruction Set Architecture of a complex microprocessor.
