Lead optical transimpedance amplifier (TIA) and modulator driver IC design across SiGe BiCMOS and advanced FinFET technologies.

About the role

Marvell is seeking a Director Analog Mixed Signal Design - Optical to lead the development of high-speed broadband ICs, including Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIAs) and optical modulator drivers. The role oversees circuit design across Silicon Germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS and FinFET technologies for coherent long-haul, metro, and PAM4 data center optical systems.

What you'll do

- Provide technical leadership and design oversight for transimpedance amplifiers, modulator drivers, and laser drivers implemented in SiGe BiCMOS and FinFET nodes. - Define interface specifications and broadband analog architectures across optical front-end receivers and transmitters in collaboration with DSP, silicon photonics, and systems teams. - Manage team staffing, performance, project execution, and analog design methodologies across multiple concurrent broadband IC projects. - Guide cross-functional execution to support post-silicon validation, product qualification, transition to mass production, and customer support. - Mentor junior and senior analog engineers in transistor-level circuit design, layout oversight, and project management.

What you'll need

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience, Master's with 10–12 years, or PhD with 8–10 years of related professional experience. - Demonstrated experience managing an analog design team developing high-speed broadband circuits operating at 10GHz+. - Proven track record as a chip lead with successful silicon bring-up and taking integrated circuits to mass production. - Expertise in transistor-level analog design fundamentals, device physics, control/feedback loop stability analysis, and custom layout oversight using EDA CAD tools. - Experience delivering designs in SiGe BiCMOS and advanced FinFET process nodes.

Nice to have

- Direct project experience designing optical Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIAs) or optical modulator drivers. - Direct project experience in AGC loop design, CTLE design, or high precision analog circuits such as linear regulators, current sensors, bandgaps, and DAC/ADC. - Experience addressing package and system integration issues.
