About the role
This role involves directing Analog IC Design in the Power Management group, focusing on the development of products such as DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, and LED drivers.
What you'll do
- Manage, hire, and mentor a team of Analog IC design engineers.
- Provide technical leadership for architecture design and circuit design based on high-level specifications.
- Own the technical outcome of design, verification, implementation, and execution of Power Management ICs.
- Define the overall product strategy and roadmap in alignment with company objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
- Understand technical aspects, best practices, and design methodologies for power management IC designs.
- Create a realistic schedule and resource plan, track execution, and monitor progress for projects.
What you'll need
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related with 18+ years of experience, or MS with 15+ years of experience.
- Solid track record of releasing complex ICs to market.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies.
- Goal and outcome-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Solid understanding of Power Converters such as multiphase converter, current sense amplifier, SAR ADC, Buck, Boost, LDOs.
- Solid understanding of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current/Voltage Mode control mechanism, Hysteretic, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power Stages.
- Strong Analog IC design skills and debug of complex silicon problems using simulations and/or bench testing.
- Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of large power transistor (LDMOS) Design, Layout, and Robustness.
- Proficiency in design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, and Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out.
- Solid understanding of DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC devices and SiC drivers.
