About the role
As a Design Verification Engineer, you will work with Chip Architects to validate the concepts of CPU and SOC level micro-architectures. You will verify selected parts of the CPU design to ensure functionality for the end product.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with CPU and SOC Architects to understand concepts and high-level system requirements. - Develop detailed Test and Coverage plans based on the Architecture and Micro-architecture. - Develop Verification Methodology, ensuring scalability and portability across environments. - Build Verification environments, including components such as Stimulus, Checkers, Assertions, Trackers, and Coverage. - Execute Verification Plans, covering Design Bring-up, DV environment Bring-up, feature regressions, and debug of test failures. - Track and report DV progress using metrics including bugs and coverage data.
What you'll need
- A minimum of a BS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. - Experience writing Test plans, portable Testbenches, Transactors, and Assembly code. - Experience with verification methodologies and tools such as Simulators, Coverage collection, Gate-level Simulation, and Waveform viewers. - Experience executing verification regressions and performing debug on test failures. - Ability to develop and work independently on a Block/Unit of the design.
Nice to have
- Deep knowledge of Micro-Processor Verification functions and Architectures in domains such as Cache Coherence, Memory ordering and Consistency, Prefetching, Branch Prediction, Renaming, Speculative execution, and Address Translation/Memory Management. - Knowledge of Random Instruction Sequencing (RIS) and testing designs at the Block/Unit-level and Subsystem/Chip-level. - Experience in leading a small team of Verification engineers performing CPU Verification. - Familiarity with advanced techniques such as Formal, Assertions, and Silicon bringup. - Experience with Mixed signal Verification.
