About the role
This role drives performance verification methodology and circuit and timing quality signoff for the CPU team.
What you'll do
- Drive performance verification (PV) methodology and circuit and timing quality signoff for the CPU team. - Evaluate new process nodes through circuit simulations and block scaling methods to recommend CPU frequency targets based on microarchitectural growth. - Make informed trade-offs between performance, power, area, and effort (PPA). - Collaborate across RTL, circuit, and structural design (SD) domains to converge on timing targets without compromising quality or schedule. - Own pre-to-post silicon VF correlation and lead debugging of circuit marginality sightings.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of CPU circuit or backend design experience. - 5+ years of experience in circuit design and STA. - Track record of execution and design ownership in advanced process technologies.
Nice to have
- In-depth circuit design knowledge and ability to make PPA tradeoff decisions. - In-depth STA knowledge and circuit quality signoff criteria for tape-in. - Experience guiding debug of post-silicon circuit marginality sightings. - Experience leading technical teams of 2-3 engineers.
Skills: custom digital circuits, CPU, memory compiler, schematic entry, simulation, DFT models

How we counted: 1084 open Digital/RTL Design (RTL Design) roles from 103 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 24 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row. Figures refresh nightly.
