About the role
This role involves supporting Lam Research's commercial and collaborative activities, including the sale of products and services and technology development.
What you'll do
- Negotiate, prepare, and draft complex commercial agreements, including equipment sales and service agreements, joint development agreements, software licensing, confidentiality and data security agreements.
- Advise business units to achieve business objectives while protecting Lam's and third parties' confidential information and intellectual property rights and ensuring compliance with laws and corporate policies.
- Provide strategic and transaction support to management and operations.
- Contribute to and assist in developing and delivering training, communications, playbooks, contract templates, processes, and procedures for legal support.
- Provide timely and effective legal advice on a wide variety of corporate and commercial legal issues, including commercial transactions, intellectual property, data security, data privacy, antitrust law, ethics and compliance, environmental, health and safety, and product safety.
- Monitor and communicate legal developments and ensure the business has processes to comply.
What you'll need
- J.D. or equivalent from a law school.
- Bar membership.
- 4+ years of experience, including providing legal support for a multinational company.
- Strong contracts, process experience, antitrust, and ethics and compliance knowledge.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and command of commercial law, with a minimum of four years practice in a US state.
- Demonstrated experience and strength drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts with a strong working knowledge of common contractual issues associated with commercial sales and collaboration agreements.
- Ability to work in a digitized environment (such as contract authoring tools, contract lifecycle management system).
Nice to have
- Background or experience in the semiconductor equipment and/or semiconductor industry.
- Technical or engineering background.
- Oregon or California bar membership.
