About the role
This internship focuses on investigating the potential of pseudomorphic GaInP/GaAsSb DHBTs on GaAs substrates and metamorphic InP/GaAsSb DHBTs on GaAs substrates.
What you'll do
- Map the GaAsSb composition parameter space for pseudomorphic growth.
- Identify layer stacks achievable by epitaxy.
- Fabricate high-performance DHBTs by adapting the GaAsSb/InP DHBT fabrication process and reducing dimensions.
- Transfer the InP/GaAsSb DHBT process developed at ETH Zurich to a metamorphic platform.
- Evaluate the effect of residual dislocations on device yield.
- Assess the impact of the metamorphic buffer and its thermal conductivity on RF performance.
What you'll need
- Engineering degree or Master's degree (Master 2).
- Strong command of semiconductor material and device physics.
- Very good knowledge of associated fabrication processes.
- At least a B2 level in English.
