About the role
This role is responsible for managing procurement activities that support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. The Buyer partners with Engineering, Supply Chain, Commodity Management, Planning, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to ensure material readiness, cost competitiveness, and successful product launches.
What you'll do
- Lead procurement activities for NPI projects from development through product launch.
- Coordinate supplier engagement, quotations, lead times, and material readiness activities.
- Partner with Engineering and cross-functional teams to identify and implement supply chain solutions for new products.
- Analyze material requirements and execute purchase orders to support project schedules.
- Manage component transitions, engineering changes, and supplier readiness activities.
- Resolve supply, quality, delivery, and cost issues impacting program milestones.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
- English Proficiency
- 5+ years of experience in Purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or NPI procurement roles.
- 5+ years of experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of experience supporting new product introductions and engineering change management.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Nice to have
- Experience in electronics, semiconductors, medical devices, or high-technology manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of supplier management, commodity strategies, and global supply chain operations.
- APICS, CPM, CPSM, or similar professional certification.
