About the role
This Co-Op position involves participating in the technology development of piezoelectric bulk acoustic resonators (BAW) including device modeling, characterization, and EDA support. It is a cross-functional role focused on collaboration with modeling, process, testing, and layout engineers.
What you'll do
- Construct FEM and circuit models in collaboration with other device modeling and circuit design engineers.
- Analyze on-wafer device statistics of key device parameters.
- Propose new ways to design BAW devices based on physics-based models and data-driven models.
What you'll need
- Current student pursuing a PhD in engineering.
- Availability to work full-time and on-site in Irvine, CA.
- Proficiency with FEM tools, such as COMSOL.
- Experience with scientific programming using MATLAB and/or Python.
- Ability to process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data for analysis and experiments.
- Familiarity with statistics, machine learning techniques and algorithms, and optimization.
- Basic knowledge of solid mechanics or acoustic wave in solids.
Nice to have
- Knowledge in BAW resonators or RFMEMS resonators.
