This role on the Snapdragon Guardian / Compute Sentra team builds cloud services for out-of-band device management and IoT security.
About the role
This role involves building cloud services that power out-of-band device management and IoT security for customer fleets.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain backend microservices for the Compute Sentra SaaS platform.
- Implement REST APIs, event listeners, and data models.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Help troubleshoot, debug, and monitor services running in a cloud environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to deliver features end to end.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Foundational programming experience in an object-oriented language (Java, Kotlin, C#, or similar).
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL fundamentals.
- Must be able to work on-site in San Diego, CA.
Nice to have
- Exposure to server-side frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot (Java), Flask, FastAPI, or .NET.
- Understanding of REST API design and HTTP fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Basic understanding of microservices architecture.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Exposure to working with AI coding assistants such as Claude or Codex.
- Coursework or projects involving distributed systems, messaging (Kafka), or event-driven design.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
- Exposure to containers and Kubernetes (Docker, k8s).
- Awareness of Clean Code, SOLID, and sound software engineering practices.
- Interest in IoT, device management, or security.
