About the role
This role involves providing application support for 800V HVDC power solutions, partnering with sales to support Data Center end equipment customers. The position focuses on designing, validating, optimizing, and troubleshooting power solutions for high-performance server and infrastructure applications.
What you'll do
- Support hyperscale and enterprise customers in HVDC 800-xV designs, validation, and optimization of 800V HVDC solutions.
- Support total solution bring-up, debugging, characterization, and customer qualifications with TI products.
- Design system architectures for high-power-density DC-DC converters, intermediate bus converters (IBCs), and HVDC power delivery solutions.
- Develop power system specifications, validation plans, reference designs, application notes, and technical collateral relevant to Data Center power applications.
- Perform modeling and simulation using tools such as SIMPLIS, SPICE, or MATLAB.
- Support the sales team by providing training, technical guidance, and contributing to design-in success at key accounts.
What you'll need
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years hands-on experience in data center power supply designs.
- Strong background in power electronics and power conversion architectures.
- Deep understanding of magnetics, resonant converters, switching converters, and power semiconductor devices.
- Proficiency with system modeling using LTspice, Simplis, PLECS and hardware design tools like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro.
- Experienced with power analyzers, high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, thermal imaging cameras, Bode analyzers, power supplies, and e-loads.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English/Mandarin.
Nice to have
- Experience with LLC, DAB, CLLC, multiphase buck, or switched-capacitor converters.
- Knowledge of high-voltage power distribution (48V, 400V, 800V HVDC).
- Familiarity with AI server, GPU, telecom, or data center power architectures.
- Experience with planar magnetics, GaN devices, and advanced packaging technologies.
- Experience working directly with hyperscale customers on customer design debug, system bring-up, and issue resolution.
- Publication, patent, or conference paper on GaN based power converter design.
