About the role
This role involves supporting customers with 48V DC/DC solutions for data center designs, focusing on high-performance server and infrastructure applications.
What you'll do
- Support hyperscale and enterprise customers in 48V-xV data center designs, validation, and optimization of 48V DC/DC solutions.
- Collaborate with IC design, magnetics, thermal, and firmware for total system solutions.
- Develop and review reference designs, test results, technical collateral, and application guidance.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable input for internal product and engineering teams.
- Perform modeling and simulation using tools such as SIMPLIS, SPICE, MATLAB, or equivalent.
- Support the sales team by providing training, technical guidance, and helping position TI solutions.
What you'll need
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years hands-on experience in 48V-xV data center power supply designs.
- Strong background in power electronics and power conversion architectures.
- Proficiency with system modeling using LTspice, Simplis, PLECS and hardware design tools like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro.
- Experienced with power analyzers, high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, thermal imaging cameras, Bode analyzers, power supplies, e-loads and ancillary equipment.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English/Mandarin; ability to produce clear bilingual (English/Mandarin) technical documents.
Nice to have
- Experience with multiphase buck, switched-capacitor converters and LLC.
- Knowledge of 48V power distribution architectures for data-centers (rack-level PDUs, intra-rack DC-DC, UPS-to-DC interfaces).
- Familiarity with AI server, GPU, telecom, or data center power architectures.
- Experience with GaN devices, Si power MOSFETs, and advanced packaging technologies.
- Experience working directly with hyperscale customers on customer design debug, system bring-up, and issue resolution.
- Publication, patent, or conference paper on GaN based power converter design.
