About the role
As an Analog IC Design Engineer at Apple, you will define specifications, model architectures, and implement transistor-level circuit blocks for analog portions of integrated circuits. The focus centers on transistor-level ADC and DAC block development, top-level integration simulations, and post-silicon validation.
What you'll do
- Define specifications for analog portions of the IC and perform behavioral modeling to validate architectures. - Conduct transistor-level feasibility studies for various blocks in ADC/DAC circuits. - Implement circuit blocks, document designs for formal design reviews, and guide mask design for physical layout implementation. - Execute top-level simulations to validate integration and design for ESD compliance. - Define production and bench-level test plans, take lab measurements to validate analog designs, and analyze yield and lab test results to drive bug fixes.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of ADC/DAC architectures and application tradeoffs. - Knowledge of band-gaps, bias, op-amps, switched-cap circuits, LDOs, feedback, and compensation techniques. - Experience with low noise design techniques and high precision techniques in the presence of device mismatch. - Experience with C, Matlab, or Verilog modeling. - Device physics knowledge as it applies to analog IC designs. - Hands-on experience using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators to validate analog designs. - Experience collaborating with production test engineers on test plans and design for testability.
