This role focuses on Marvell's multi-protocol SerDes PHY (COMPHY) in advanced TSMC nodes from 5nm and 3nm to 2nm.
About the role
This Analog Design Intern role on the AMS COMPHY team involves learning the full analog IC design flow, from specification to tape-out, and applying it to hands-on design work in advanced CMOS nodes.
What you'll do
- Learn the fundamentals of analog IC design, including MOSFET/FinFET/GAA device behavior, noise, distortion, feedback, stability, and fully differential circuits.
- Interpret circuit specifications and design/simulate basic analog building blocks such as amplifiers, OTAs, current mirrors, comparators, and LDOs.
- Run schematic and post-layout simulations with Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre, including PVT corner and Monte Carlo analysis.
- Optimize designs for performance, noise, power, and area.
- Support circuit behavior analysis, mixed-mode simulation, and silicon evaluation/characterization.
- Participate in technical readings, presentations, and design reviews, and document work.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical & Computer Engineering (expected to graduate in 2027 or 2028).
- Solid understanding of analog circuit fundamentals and transistor-level design.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and basic CMOS fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with basic analog building blocks like op-amps, LDOs, current mirrors, and PLLs.
- Completed coursework in circuit theory, electronics, analog circuits, and microelectronics/integrated circuits.
- Good English reading, writing, and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, or similar SPICE simulators.
- Academic or personal projects in analog or mixed-signal IC design (e.g., OTA, bandgap, or LDO design).
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix and scripting (Python, Tcl, or MATLAB).
- Interest in high-speed SerDes, PLL/clocking, or data converters.

How we counted: 296 open Analog IC Design (Analog Design) roles from 50 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 8 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
