About the role
Marvell is seeking an AI Sr. Principal Engineer to build an AI ecosystem at the intersection of machine learning and analog/mixed-signal IC design. The role focuses on developing learning systems, representations, and optimization methods for physics-governed hardware engineering artifacts.
What you'll do
- Teach machines to represent and understand structured engineering artifacts, including graphs, netlists, layouts, and physical models. - Build learning and optimization systems that search design spaces and converge on solutions verified against real physics. - Design the data, modeling, and compute backbone that enables scaling and reproducibility. - Create fast learned models that stand in for slow, expensive physical simulation. - Build an agentic and tooling layer to assist and automate engineering workflows.
What you'll need
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or an equivalent research/industry track record. - Deep expertise in at least one area: machine learning, large-scale systems, applied mathematics/optimization, or analog/mixed-signal design. - Strong software fundamentals with fluency in Python and experience converting research into tested code. - Demonstrated ability to explore an unfamiliar domain through papers, projects, open source, or shipped systems. - Demonstrated focus on clean abstractions, reproducibility, and scale.
Nice to have
- Experience with PyTorch.
