About the role
As an AI Software Engineering PhD Intern within Intel Foundry, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of AI software solutions across computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning. You will build data-driven systems, predictive models, and cloud-based ETL pipelines to optimize tool capacity management, risk modeling, and defect inspection strategies.
What you'll do
- Design and implement data-driven solutions that optimize tool capacity management, risk modeling, and defect inspection strategies. - Build robust cloud-based ETL pipelines and develop predictive models. - Deliver actionable insights through published reports and dashboards. - Build an MCP server that connects manufacturing data and analytical models to an in-house Gen AI and LLM service for conversational data querying. - Implement and tune AI models for performance and accuracy, supporting hardware-software integration.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related discipline. - 6+ months of experience with programming. - 3+ months of experience with Git, Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and MCP server. - Proficiency in Python programming and machine learning techniques.
Nice to have
- Experience with data analysis and visualization. - Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling techniques. - Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and database fundamentals.
