About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an Advanced Packaging Global Product Support Engineer based in Santa Clara, CA to develop service procedures and support product release for semiconductor equipment.
What you'll do
- Develop new procedures, Best Known Methods (BKMs), Customer Engineering Notices (CENs), Internal Service Bulletins (ISBs), and troubleshooting guides to service new products.
- Participate in or own first chamber Build & Test in the Apps lab, resolving issues directly or collaborating with Engineering and Manufacturing on New Product final tests.
- Partner with the Quality & Reliability (Q&R) group to review Top Field Issues, lead or participate in CAPA processes, and conduct or facilitate Failure Analysis (FA).
- Contribute to the FMECA process and author Technical Product Manuals to document installation, retrofit, and maintenance procedures.
- Collect process and qualification data to build product BKMs and partner with AGS to identify and stock required new parts.
- Develop initial training packages with Global Technical Training (GTT) and train Customer Engineers (CEs), Process Engineers (PSEs), and Technical Product Support (TPS) teams prior to Early Line Shipment (ELS).
What you'll need
- Experience in semiconductor equipment.
- Conceptual and practical expertise in equipment engineering disciplines and related cross-functional workflows.
- Ability to solve complex hardware and service problems using multi-source data analysis.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Nice to have
- Experience in PVD and/or ETCH semiconductor systems.
