About the role
This role is for a Software Engineering co-op/intern to contribute to software applications within AMD.
What you'll do
- Work closely with software engineers to build and maintain software applications.
- Receive training on the full software creation process, from design and build to testing and deployment.
- Build scripts to automate software development processes.
- Learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
- Be involved in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in a US based University in an Undergrad degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
- Knowledge/experience with software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
- Knowledge/experience with C/C++ programming or scripting languages like Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell script, Perl, Java, Javascript, UML.
- Knowledge/experience with operating systems such as UNIX/Linux OS.
- Knowledge/experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
- Knowledge/experience with cloud computing platforms like Azure.
- Knowledge/experience with web development frameworks like Django, Rails, Spring Boot.
- Knowledge/experience with markup languages like HTML, XML, XSL.
- Knowledge/experience with defect tracking, testing, and debugging.
- Knowledge/experience with Git, Github, Perforce.
- Knowledge/experience with security technologies such as OAuth, SSL, or TLS.
- Knowledge/experience with PC/CPU architecture, Embedded systems, or microcontrollers.
