About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join the Austin Engineering Department research and rapid development group for summer 2027. You will design, procure, test, and iterate prototype parts alongside physicists, electrical engineers, and software experts.
What you'll do
- Perform CAD modeling using Creo or Solidworks. - Execute mechanical design and FEA of components. - Collaborate with suppliers on rapid prototyping and manufacturing methods. - Design experiments to test prototype assemblies and iterate designs based on results.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering. - Good academic standing at an accredited university.
Nice to have
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. - Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing.
