SkyWater Hiring: 112 Open Jobs Across Three US Sites
SkyWater is a US semiconductor foundry and an IonQ subsidiary with sites in Bloomington, Minnesota; Austin, Texas; and Kissimmee, Florida.

What changed at SkyWater
SkyWater completed its acquisition of Infineon’s Fab 25 in Austin in June 2025. The acquisition added approximately 1,000 employees and manufacturing capacity from 130 nm to 65 nm.
In July 2026, IonQ completed its acquisition of SkyWater. SkyWater continues operating under its own name, with manufacturing sites in Minnesota, Texas and Florida.

Bloomington has the largest number of postings, but each site has a different hiring pattern.

Equipment and maintenance is the largest category
Equipment engineering and maintenance accounts for 34 of the 112 postings, making it SkyWater’s largest hiring category. These positions cover fab tools used in films, metrology, CMP and other manufacturing processes.
The equipment positions have been open for a median of 77 days. Across all disciplines and locations, 23 SkyWater postings have been open for at least 90 days, and 42 have been open for at least 60 days.
Age alone does not mean a position is difficult to fill. Some postings remain active because the company needs more than one person, hires continuously or relists the same work under a new requisition.
Advanced packaging hiring in Florida
Kissimmee has 26 active postings. In mid October, SkyWater added nine advanced packaging engineering positions at the staff, senior staff and principal levels.
The work includes process integration, patterning, die placement, bond and debond processes, and wafer level packaging. Two advanced packaging leadership positions at the site have been open for more than 100 days.
The Kissimmee postings represent one of the clearest concentrations of advanced packaging hiring in SkyWater’s current job data.
Manufacturing in Austin
Austin has 39 active postings following SkyWater’s acquisition of Fab 25. The largest groups involve equipment maintenance, manufacturing, electrical test and process engineering.
The Austin postings also include production supervisors and recruiting positions. This suggests SkyWater is hiring across both fab operations and the support needed to operate the larger site.
Process, yield and quantum work in Bloomington
Bloomington has 47 postings, the most of SkyWater’s three locations. Current openings cover diffusion, yield, process integration, equipment and thermal imaging.
The site also has quantum integration engineering and quantum foundry business positions. Those openings fit SkyWater’s role within IonQ while continuing its work for other commercial and government customers.

What the hiring shows
SkyWater’s hiring is spread across three sites with different responsibilities.
Austin is hiring for fab operations following the Fab 25 acquisition. Bloomington combines process and yield engineering with quantum work. Kissimmee is adding advanced packaging engineers.
Equipment maintenance remains the largest category across the company, while the newer Florida postings show where SkyWater is adding specialized engineering capacity.
